Biography

OBITUARY........
Ann Eliza Hill Barnett, 74, widow of the late A. Hamilton Barnett, well known resident of the Bethel section of York County, SC died suddenly April 7, 1934 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. Hope Forbes in the Olney section of Gaston County, NC. Death was due to angina pectoris.
She was born October 18, 1859, within 300 yards of where she died, the old Hill place in the lower edge of Gaston County. She was the daughter of the late William Riley Hill and Sarah Simmons. She was one of the best loved women in York County.  She was a woman of the highest Christian character, a faithful member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Clover, SC  and a devoted and regular attendant at all its exercises of worship. Her married life had been spent on the Barnett farm in Bethel township, between Bethel Church and the Catawba River.
Funeral service was held at Bethel Presbyterian Church and interment was in the Bethel Church Cemetery.
Survivors include five children and one brother.
