Biography

OBITUARY-James C. Harper
The funeral service for James Clyde Harper, 83, Bethel, was held on Tuesday morning at the Bethel Presbyterian Church, followed by burial in the Bethel Cemetery.
Rev. David Coblentz, Pastor, and Dr. Tilden Scherer officiated at the service for Mr. Harper, who died on Sunday at the Divine Saviour Hospital in York, SC after several years of declining health.
Mr. Harper was a prominent farmer in the Bethel section. He also was a member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church and a long time member of the Woodmen of the World.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Harper; two sons, David M. Harper, Caldwell, NJ and James E. Harper, York, SC; four daughters, Mrs. B. R. Love and Mrs. C. T. Meek, Clover, SC, Mrs. T. H. Meek, Gastonia, NC, and Mrs. J. E. Banner, Belmont, NC, and 16 grandchilden and 12 great-grandchildren.
M. L. Ford and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of burial arrangements.
