Epitaph:
IN MEMORY/OF/W.B. JACKSON/wounded at/Gettysburg and/died July 7th/1863 aged 19/years 5 months/and 17days./Lt. R.A. JACKSON/Killed near/Petersburg July/14th 1861 aged/23 years 9 mos/and 5 days/The above was/sons of James/Jackson/This stone proclaims/the worthy names/Who fought and died/Where souls are tried.

One side of the obelisk has the following inscription: THIS MARBLE/is the tribute of/love & friendship/to the memory/of those here/named whose/bodies sleep in/Virginia and/Pennsylvania./From bloody graves/The trump of God/Will call the brave/Bless thou the rod.
