Biography

OBITUARY:
Mrs. Nancy Jane Mariah Glenn Riddle, 83, the second wife of the late Robert Benjamin Riddle, of York County, South Carolina, who were married January 2, 1901, passed away December 3, 1944, in a local hospital, after an illness of one week.
She was born September 25, 1861, to the late John Franklin Glenn and Christine Caroline Wood Glenn of Gaston County, North Carolina.  For many years she was a resident of Riddle's Mill, York County, South Carolina  She was making her home with her step-son, R. S. Riddle, Charlotte, North Carolina, but was visiting a cousin, Miss Mary Glenn, in Clover, South Carolina, when she became ill.
Surviving were: three nieces, a nephew, several step-children, a step-grandson, C. Robert Gray, whom she reared from infancy, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
The funeral service was held December 4, 1944 at Bethel Presbyterian Church, Clover, South Carolina with Rev. Tilden Scherer, her pastor, and Rev.Hamilton Johnston, Charlotte, North Carolina, officiating. Burial was in Bethel Church Cemetery.
