Granite lawn-style marker flush with the ground that serves as the footstone, and a granite die on base with the inscription "HARPER" serves as the headstone.
Biography

OBITUARY:
Roy Ruthven Harper, 59, passed away in a Charlotte hospital after an extended illness.
Mr. Harper was a native of York County, South Carolina and a farmer.
He was born March 5, 1890 to the late James Shields Harper and Emily Currence Harper.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bess Sanders Harper, three sons, Julian K, Roland T. and Roy R., Jr., a daughter, Emily B. Funderburk, one brother, two sisters, and five granddaughters.
Funeral services were held December 25, 1949 at the home in the Bethel community, with Dr. Tilden Scherer officiating. Burial was in Bethel Presbyterian Church, Clover, South Carolina.
