Biography

Her obituary appeared in The Gastonia Gazette on Friday, March 16, 1917.

MRS. T.N. DULIN DEAD.

Well-Known Bethel Lady Succumbed to Complication of Diseases - Funeral at Bethel Church Largely Attended.

In the early hours of yesterday morning, following a severe illness of four weeks, Mrs. (Mollie) Mary Lillian Stanton Dulin, wife of Dr. Thomas N. Dulin, died at her home in the Bethel section of York County.  Attacked four weeks ago by erysipelas, which was followed by complications,  Mrs. Dulin developed pneumonia a few days ago, this disease proving fatal.

Deceased was in her 44th year, having been born December 22, 1872, in the Bethel section, the daughter of David Stanton and wife.  Both her parents are dead.  She is survived by her husband, Dr. T.N. Dulin, one of the best-known physicians of York county; five children, Emily, Haskell, Glenn, Lavene and Dorothy; one brother, Mr. Haskell Stanton, and two sisters, Mrs. Henry Glenn, of Gastonia, and Mrs. Williams Adams, of Bethel.

Furneral services were held at Bethel Presbyterian Church at 4:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon, her old pastor, Rev. W.B. Arrowood, now of Sharon, officiating, assisted by Rev. A.A. McLean, of Clover. An unusually large number of friends were present at the funeral, many being there from Clover, York, Rock Hill, Gastonia and other nearby towns.  Interment was in the Bethel Cemetery.  The pall-bearers were elders of the church, T.E. Brandon, J.E. Brandon, W.N. Wallace, W.H. Glenn, J.B. Ford and J.L. Currence.

Mrs. Dulin was loved by all who knew her.  Hers was a lovely Christian character and the example of her life was a great blessing to her community which mourns her loss.  As wife, mother, church member, community worker, she was always faithful and unselfish and her passing leaves a vacancy that cannot be filled in any of these positions.  The bereaved family has the sympathy of many friends in their sorrow.

Attending the funeral from Gastonia were Mr. and Mrs. P.R. Huffstetler, Miss Pearl Gallant, Mrs. S.A. Robinson, Mrs. George G. Willis, Mr. and Mrs. J. Lean Adams, Mr. and Mrs. S. Ross Clinton, Miss Ethel Pierce, Dr. R.M. Reid, Dr. T.C. Quickel, Mr. Ed C. Adams, Dr. and Mrs. L.N. Glenn, Misses Maggie and Eliza Barnett, Dr. and Mrs. H.F. Glenn and Master H.F. Glenn, Jr., and Mrs. W.F. Michael.
