His obituary was in The Gastonia Gazette on Monday, June 9, 1947. 

W.S. HOGUE

CLOVER, S.C. - William Sidney Hogue, 82, retired farmer, died suddenly Sunday morning at 8 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ruby Robinson.

Surviving in addition to Mrs. Robinson, are two other daughters, Mrs. Glenn Atkins and Mrs. J.L. Clark of York; two sons, H.R. Hogue of Fort Mill and John S. Hogue of Rock Hill; three sisters, Mrs. J.E. Carroll of York, Mrs. J.M. Stewart of Nichols and Mrs. W.E. Gettys of Rock Hill; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were to be held Monday afternoon at 5 o'clock at the Clover Presbyterian Church with the pastor, Rev. W.H. Bowman, officiating.  Burial was to be in the Bethel Church cemetery.  M.L. Ford and Son Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
