Biography

OBITUARY.....James Lawson Pursley
James Lawson Pursley, 65, of Clover, SC, died Monday afternoon after suffering a heart attack.
He was born Nov. 24, 1897 in York County, SC, son of the late James Fitchette and Nancy Robinson Pursley.
He was an elder at Clover ARP Church, a mason and a shriner.
Survivors included his widow, Mrs. Gladys Nichols Pursley; three brothers, Claude and Conan Pursley, both of Clover, SC and Wideman Pursley of Gastonia, NC; three sisters, Mrs. J. T. Adams and Mrs. Frank Smith, both of Clover, SC, and Mrs. Louis DeVall of Cookville, TN; one aunt, Miss Minnie Robinson of Clover, SC.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 4:00 PM at Clover ARP Church by Rev. J. Calvin Smith and Dr. Wl H. Bowman. Burial  was in Bethel Presbyterian Church cemetery.
